Shannon Adams

Vice President Information Technology at Big Rock Sports

Shannon Adams has over 25 years of work experience in the information technology field. Shannon started their career as a computer programmer intern at Cherry Point Naval Aviation Depot in 1992. Shannon then worked as an IT instructor at Carteret Community College from 1993 to 1994. Shannon joined Big Rock Sports in 1994 as a Systems Administrator/Lead Programmer and later became an Information Technology Manager from 1999 to 2003. Shannon then progressed to Director of IT Operations at Big Rock Sports from 2004 to 2016, where they oversaw various aspects of technology solutions, budgeting, and resource allocation. Finally, Shannon held the position of Director of Information Technology at Big Rock Sports from 2016 to 2019, responsible for planning, organizing, and executing IT functions. Currently, they are serving as the Vice President of Information Technology at the organization, responsible for planning the future of information technology and ensuring the stability of computer systems and networks.

Shannon Adams obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Information Systems from Appalachian State University, where they studied from 1990 to 1993. Prior to that, they attended Cape Fear Community College from 1987 to 1989, earning an AAS in Computer Information Systems. They also have additional certifications in "How to Stop Wasting Time in Meetings" and "Creating Your IT Strategy" from LinkedIn, obtained in 2022.
