Big Surf Waterpark is North America's original surfing facility. When Big Surf opened in 1969 it was nothing more than an inland ocean providing relief to landlocked surfers and swimmers. Over the years Big Surf grew into what is more commonly considered a modern waterpark. Currently Big Surf has over 19 slides and attractions and boasts one of the largest wave pools in the world at 2.5 million gallons. In 2019 the park will celebrate its 50th year of operation cementing its place as the oldest operating waterpark in America.
