Julie Fawcett (FRICS, MBA, CMgr MCMI, MIWFM)

Julie Fawcett has a diverse and extensive work experience in facilities management and leadership roles. Currently, they serve as the Head of Estates and Facilities at Big Yellow Self Storage since June 2021. Previously, Julie worked at Marks and Spencer from May 2019 to December 2020 as the Head of Facilities Management, where they led the FM function, managed asset investment and energy management, and contributed to the strategic direction of the organization.

Before that, they were the Facilities Management Director at Travis Perkins plc from December 2015 to April 2019. In this role, Julie formulated and implemented a clear FM strategy for the company, prioritizing a customer-focused approach and effective stakeholder management. JULIE also focused on enhancing governance, safety, service levels, and transparency.

From 2012 to 2015, Julie worked at Mitie, where they held multiple roles. As the Director of Operational Engagement, they developed and led the FM strategy across a vast property portfolio, ensuring contract performance and driving engagement and cost efficiencies. Julie also served as the Head of FM Relationship Management, overseeing the operational delivery of facilities management for Lloyds Banking Group. JULIE was responsible for contract performance, key performance indicators, cost measures, gainshare initiatives, and operational efficiencies.

Julie's earlier experience includes roles at Lloyds Banking Group and HBOS, where they held positions such as Head of FM, Retail Network, Head of Retail FM, and Customer Service Manager, Retail Network.

Julie Fawcett (FRICS, MBA, CMgr MCMI, MIWFM) completed their education at The Open University from 1983 to 2008. During this period, they pursued an MBA degree with a focus on Strategy, Strategic HR, Marketing, and Financial Strategy. Additionally, Julie attended Park Lane College from 1984 to 1986, where they obtained a BTEC National Diploma in Business Studies.
