Summary/Objective:
The Equipment Painter performs a combination of tasks, including but not limited to prepping, using a hand palm sander, grinding, cleaning surfaces for paint, taping, spraying primer, painting with a pressure pot painting system, inspecting finished product, and moving objects in/out of paint booth.
Responsibilities:
Paint efficiently using a pressure pot painting system.
Skillfully apply body filler, fiberglass, and other materials for body repair
Sanding paint, filler, and rust areas to prepare the surface for primer.
Masking or taping around glass, decals, and other areas on equipment that are not supposed to be painted.
Cleaning the painting surface prior to painting and cleaning up overspray and other defects after painting
Preparing items to be painted, by sanding, grinding, and disassembling items by hand.
Work efficiently and safely while prepping and painting items outside and in the elements while properly maintain painting equipment.
Ability (or willing to learn) to fill in as a sandblaster as needed.
Assist other team members with their tasks as able.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Qualifications:
Must have experience painting cranes, equipment, or automobiles.
Possess current valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Experience with pressure pot painting systems preferred.
Experience with filler, fiberglass, and other materials used to repair equipment prior to painting preferred.
Experience with usage of pneumatic and power tools to sand and prepare surfaces for paint/primer.
Experience with masking, covering, or taping equipment.
Possess a strong work ethic and a great attitude.
Willing and able to work long hours as required.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures if required.
