Chantal Hardy has a diverse and extensive work experience. Chantal currently holds the position of Associate Director of Education at Bike New York, where they are responsible for managing educational programs. Prior to this role, they served as the Event & Volunteer Manager at the same company. Chantal also has experience at WE BIKE NYC INC, where they were a Board Member and Director of Community Outreach and Promotion. Chantal has also worked at Tufts University as an Administrative Assistant for nine years. Chantal has contributed to the field of education as a Summer Youth Employment Program Instructor and Customer Service & Volunteer Management Assistant at Bike New York. Chantal has also worked as a Visiting Art Teacher at Eliot-Pearson Children's School and served as a Student Teacher at Brookline High School. Chantal's passion for art education is evident through their role as an Art Teaching Assistant at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where they taught courses exploring the basics of drawing and composition. Additionally, they have been an Associate Member at Kingston Gallery.
Chantal Hardy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies, which they obtained from Oberlin College from 1994 to 1998. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued non-degree classes and MAT-Art Ed coursework at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts from 2002 to 2012, focusing on painting and printmaking. Chantal further enhanced their education by obtaining a Master's degree in Teaching, specifically in Art Education, from Tufts University, where they attended from 2012 to 2015.
Bike New York
Bike New York is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to facilitate & promote cycling in New York City through education, public events, & collaboration with community organizations & municipal agencies. Our vision is to encourage cycling as a safe & sustainable means of transit and recreation, & to elevate cycling as a healthy compliment to New Yorkers’ daily lives. Working with the Department of Transportation & other city agencies, Bike New York provides access to cycling for New Yorkers by offering free bicycling education classes for kids & adults in all five boroughs, informational school assemblies & after-school programs, & a summer program for youth enrolled in organized camp groups. Since 2011, these education programs have reached more than 17,500 New Yorkers. These free classes are funded through public events, most notably the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, America’s largest cycling event. With more than 32,000 cyclists, this ride brings bike enthusiasts from all over the world to enjoy 40 miles of traffic-free streets in New York City. Bike New York also produces Bike Expo New York (BE NY), presented by Eastern Mountain Sports. With more than 43,000 attendees, the inaugural BE NY was the largest free consumer bike expo in the country. Proceeds from this event help to fund Bike New York’s education programs.
