Erin Ortiz

Erin Ortiz is an Associate Professor and Director of General Education and First Year Experience at Dixie State University since July 2015, previously serving as an Assistant Professor in the Media Studies Department. Erin has additional experience as an Assistant Professor at Butler University since August 2012, and has held positions as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer at the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah, from January 2011 to May 2012, and as a Ph.D Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Utah from August 2006 to May 2010. Erin began a career in academia as an MA Graduate Teaching Fellow at Duquesne University from August 2004 to May 2006, and earlier worked as a Sales Representative at Watson Pharmaceuticals from March 2003 to June 2004. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D from the University of Utah (2006-2011), a Master's Degree in Communication from Duquesne University (2004-2006), and a BA in Communication from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh (1999-2002).
