Marlena Ong

Marlena Ong has extensive experience in the legal field, with their most recent position being the Head of Legal at BIL Suisse since October 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Legal Counsel at BIL Suisse from January 2020 to September 2022. Marlena also worked as a Legal Counsel at Habib Bank AG Zurich from August 2017 to December 2019.

Before joining Habib Bank AG Zurich, Marlena gained experience at Glencore as Legal from June 2016 to July 2017. Prior to that, they worked as Legal-Fixed Income and Corporate Banking at BNP Paribas in Switzerland from August 2014 to May 2016.

Marlena's early career included working as Business Development at Reed Smith LLP from December 2012 to August 2014 and as Corporate-What's Market at Practical Law from March 2010 to November 2012.

Marlena also had valuable experiences as a Trainee in the UK Law Division at the European Investment Bank from March 2009 to July 2009, and as a Postgraduate Intern in the Trade-in-Services Division at the International Trade Centre (agency of WTO and UNCTAD) from August 2008 to February 2009.

Marlena Ong's education history is as follows:

From 2007 to 2008, Marlena attended BPP Law School, where they pursued a Legal Practice Course. Marlena'sfield of study encompassed Debt Finance, Equity Finance, and Private Acquisitions.

In the year 2005 until 2006, Marlena was enrolled in UCL (University College London), where they obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree. During this period, their studies covered International Economic Law, International Law of Natural Resources, and United Nations Law.

Prior to their LLM, Marlena completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from UCL between 2001 and 2004. Marlena'sareas of focus comprised European Union Law, Contract, and Tort Law, as well as Property Law.

Additionally, in November 2018, Marlena acquired a Specialist Certificate in Trade-based Money Laundering from the International Compliance Association (ICA).
