Laurie Pitzer

Laurie Pitzer is an experienced educator and private tutor with a career spanning over three decades in various educational roles. Currently serving as an English Second Language Instructor at the Bilingual Education Institute since June 2023, Laurie has also been providing private tutoring for elementary-aged students since October 2011, focusing on building confidence in math and reading skills. Past positions include Elementary Educator at The Parish School, substitute teacher and tutor with Houston ISD, and a Reading Intervention Teacher at Houston ISD - Pilgrim Academy, where Laurie specialized in assisting English Language Learners and students struggling with reading comprehension. Additionally, Laurie has worked as an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay, Inc. since 2006, and held various teaching roles within the Houston Independent School District from 1990 to 2005. Laurie earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University between 1986 and 1990.
