Haley Hill

Director, Global Development at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

As chief of staff to the President for Global Development, Haley serves as an extension of the president across the foundation on select programmatic issues, while driving the communication and execution of Global Development objectives and ensuring alignment of the leadership team. In her role, Haley oversees the Multilateral Partnerships and Emergency Response teams.

Haley has also supported the foundation’s effort to bring groundbreaking innovations in sanitation products and services to people in the developing world in her prior role as the deputy director for Strategy, Planning and Management for the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene team at the foundation. In that capacity she was responsible for leading the strategic, financial, and operational aspects of the WSH program area.

Prior to joining the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Haley was a principal at the Boston Consulting Group focused on corporate and non-profit strategy, new product development, and business expansion into emerging markets. She also worked developing a biological sensor technology for the Department of Homeland Security and served as an advisor to a Nanotech start-up developing a medical diagnostic platform.

Haley Hill holds a doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and a B.A. in Biochemistry from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA.
