Rhett Dornbach-Bender is a director in the Strategy Office, where he advises teams across Global Development, Global Health, Global Policy & Advocacy, and U.S. Education on the development and execution of their strategies. Rhett also serves on the board of Stand Up Ideas, a 501(c)3 that works to strengthen Americans’ commitment to democratic ideals and norms across the partisan spectrum.
Before joining the Gates Foundation in 2013, Rhett spent several years working with The Bridgespan Group, a strategy consulting firm that serves nonprofits and foundations. Based in Bridgespan's Boston office, he worked primarily with nonprofits and foundations in the domestic education, human services, and youth development sectors.
Rhett earned his B.A. in Economics and Politics from Pomona College and grew up in California’s Mojave Desert.
