Mohamed Bassyouni

Mohamed Bassyouni has over 18 years of experience in program management and clinical operations within the pharmaceutical industry. Mohamed currently holds the role of Program Management Leader at the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute, where they are responsible for leading the TB Vaccine development and the COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator operational program. Prior to this, Mohamed worked at GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines as the Director of Global Clinical Operations and the Project Delivery Lead for the maternal immunization platform. Mohamed also served as the Senior Global Study Delivery Lead and Senior Study Delivery Manager at the company. Mohamed's career in the industry started at GlaxoSmithKline in 2004, where they held various roles including Clinical Research Manager, SCRA, CRA, Senior Medical Representative, and Medical Representative. Before joining GlaxoSmithKline, they worked as a Medical Representative at Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals Egypt.

Mohamed Bassyouni completed their secondary education from Tabary Roxy School from 1995 to 1998. After that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Cairo University, attending from 1998 to 2003. In terms of additional certifications, Mohamed obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2017. Mohamed has also obtained various certifications from LinkedIn, including Leading Projects, Project Management Simplified, The Top 10 Project Management Mistakes—and How to Avoid Them, How to Perform Business Analysis in a Virtual Environment, Managing Projects with Microsoft Teams, Problem Solving Techniques, Project Management Skills for Leaders, Leading with Vision, Strategic Thinking, Enhancing Resilience, Managing Globally, Negotiating with Agility, Strategic Partnerships, and Cert Prep for PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) in 2020 and 2022.
