Artur Balen

Artur Balen has a diverse work experience in the field of data governance and consulting. Artur started their career in 2015 as a Management Consultant at Management Solutions, where they worked on projects related to automating FX products confirmations and implementing Risk Data Aggregation. Artur then joined DTSQUARED as a Data Governance Consultant, assisting financial institutions in complying with regulatory requirements.

In 2019, Balen joined Mudano as a Data Consultant, working on the BCBS 239 program in a retail bank. Artur later moved on to become the Managing Director of their own consultancy firm, BALEN CONSULTING LTD, specializing in data governance implementation.

Balen continued their career as a Lead Technical Consultant at BT, where they implemented Information Data Governance using Collibra, integrating with Data Quality Engine and BI/MI reporting. Artur also worked as a Lead Collibra Architect/Developer at MetLife, leading the implementation of a Data Landscape program across multiple countries in EMEA and developing custom workflows and dashboards.

Balen's experience also includes a role as a Solutions Architect at IBM, where they worked on architectural solutions. Currently, they are working as a Data Governance Product Owner at Billigence. Throughout their career, Balen has demonstrated expertise in Collibra, Power BI, and various data governance methodologies and regulations, such as BCBS239 and GDPR.

Artur Balen's education history is as follows:

Artur Balen obtained a Master's Degree in Management Consultancy from the University of Aberdeen, where they studied from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Business Management at the University of Westminster, attending from 2011 to 2014. Their high school education was completed at Juventos Gymnasium from 2004 to 2011, where they pursued a degree in General Studies.

In addition to their formal education, Artur Balen has also earned several certifications. Artur obtained the certifications of Collibra Platform Administrator, Collibra Integration Engineer, Collibra Solution Architect, Collibra Workflow Engineer, and Collibra Certified Ranger from Collibra. These certifications were obtained in 2021 and 2018. Furthermore, Artur Balen is a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP™) certified by DAMA- Data Management Association, which they obtained in August 2019.
