Jan Hessellund

Jan Hessellund has extensive work experience in various leadership positions. Jan started their career as a Varehuschef for Bilka Horsens at Dansk Supermarked, where they were responsible for overseeing the operation and management of the store. Later, they worked as a Bankrådsformand at Spar Nord Bank Horsens, where they led local council meetings and represented the shareholders' interests.

In 2008, Jan Hessellund joined Billund Lufthavn and held several roles throughout their tenure. Jan served as the Detailchef/Retail Manager and later became the Kommerciel Chef/VP Sales, where they were responsible for leading the shopping, food & beverage, and advertising departments. Jan then became the Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing the Sales organization with up to 200 employees during peak seasons. In 2018, they were appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Billund Lufthavn, leading the implementation of the strategic plan "Udvikling med Vilje" 2018 - 2027.

Apart from their work at Billund Lufthavn, Jan Hessellund has also been involved in various organizations and committees. Jan served as a Bestyrelsesmedlem and later as the Næstformand at Brancheforeningen Dansk Luftfart (DI), where they contributed to promoting the Danish aviation industry. Jan is also a co-founder and former Chairman of VL121 Horsens at VL - Dansk Selskab for Virksomhedsledelse, a group of business leaders in the Aarhus region.

In addition, Jan Hessellund holds positions in several other associations and committees, including Næstformand at DI Transport, Chairman of Hærvejskomitéen, and Chairman of Destination Trekantområdet. Jan is also involved with the Fonden FÆNGSLET, where they serve as the Næstformand and a board member.

Jan Hessellund has a diverse education history, with a focus on business leadership and management. In 1986, they completed their high school education at Midtfyens Gymnasium, where they studied mathematics and physics. Jan then attended Svendborg Handelsskole from 1990 to 1991, earning a degree in commerce and economics. Later on, they pursued leadership training at Dansk Supermarkeds Lederuddannelse from 1993 to 2001. In 2010, Jan attended IMD Business School for an Executive MBA program, specializing in the Master Class om Breakpoints. In the following year, they further enhanced their leadership skills at AVT Business School with a Breakpoint Master Class. Jan also attended Center for Ledelse in 2010 and 2011, working towards an ABD degree in Business Leadership - Global Management. Jan'smost recent educational endeavor took place in 2022 at CBS Bestyrelsesuddannelserne, where they completed the CBS Executive Bestyrelsesuddannelsen - CEBU 2022-1 program, focusing on the field of Bestyrelse.
