Derek Bateman

Derek Bateman is a seasoned cybersecurity professional currently serving as a Senior Security Solutions Engineer at Binary Defense since February 2023. In this role, Derek focuses on conducting client discovery calls, developing customized solutions, and delivering technical support and presentations. Prior to this position, Derek spent nearly six years at Critical Start, holding various roles including Lead Customer Support Engineer and Senior Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, where responsibilities included enabling client success with cybersecurity tools and providing actionable intelligence on threats. Derek's career began in the US Army, where significant intelligence analysis experience was gained as a CoIST All Source Intelligence Analyst. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security from the University of Phoenix and an Associate of Arts degree from Connors State College.
