Lubna Omar currently serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Middle East and North Africa Studies (CMENAS) and as a Lecturer at Binghamton University, a position held since January 2016. Prior to this role, Lubna was an Assistant Professor at Ahi Evran University from March 2012 to December 2015, focusing on teaching and research. Earlier experience includes conducting zooarchaeological research as a Researcher at Bogazici University from January 2011 to March 2012, where activities included processing faunal materials from the Tarsus-Gozulukule site in southwest Turkey. Lubna holds a PhD in Zooarchaeology from Kyoto University, earned in 2010, and a Bachelor’s degree in Near Eastern Archaeology from Damascus University, completed in 2001.
