We are seeking a Production Coordinator for a jobsite in Central NJ.

The Role

The Production Coordinator assists the Production Coordination Manager with projects, develop client relationships and deliver projects per client needs and budgets. This role will have direct oversite and control of project activities. The position requires high-level client service and establishing long-term partnerships.

Accountabilities:
Project Coordination:

  • Support the production management team in coordinating all phases of the project lifecycle, from project acquisition through closeout.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating meetings, such as production kickoffs and weekly production meetings, ensuring key milestones, schedules, and deliverables are communicated effectively.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to track progress and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Facilitating daily production plans with foreman and production manager.

Resource Allocation & Scheduling:

  • Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient use of resources in both fabrication and installation phases.
  • Support the development of production schedules and help manage work-in-process (WIP) to avoid delays.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain essential project documentation, including production plans, installation schedules, and resource allocation records.
  • Ensure that project data is accurately recorded in internal systems (e.g., SPS, Stratus, Project Tracking) and that team members are kept informed of updates.
  • Provide regular reports to the production management team on project status, key performance indicators (KPIs), and milestones.

Quality Control & Safety:

  • Assist in enforcing standardized production practices to maintain high levels of quality control and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Participate in project reviews to identify areas for improvement and provide input on how to optimize future workflows.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Serve as a liaison between production teams, project managers, and field teams to ensure effective communication.
  • Help facilitate collaboration between design, engineering, and field teams to optimize production engineering and fabrication opportunities.

Problem-Solving & Process Improvement:

  • Assist in identifying and resolving project-related issues, including resource shortages, scheduling conflicts, and on-site challenges.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing input on process improvements and best practices.

Qualifications:

Skills

  • Solid understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Strong computer and technology skills including project management software, Microsoft Outlook, smart phones, and other software used in the construction industry.
  • The ability to decipher various project schedule formats and impacts to mechanical work; working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical scopes of work.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at the same.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Experience in construction or business development a plus.
  • Successful management of large and complex projects for sophisticated client's healthcare, laboratory, infrastructure, higher education. industrial or R&D facilities desired.
  • Lean Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical activity not limited to climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, lifting <40 lbs.
