Malanie Beltran

Laboratory Director , Remote Operations at Bio-Reference Laboratories

Malanie Beltran has an extensive work history in the medical laboratory field. Malanie started their career in 1986 as a Staff Sargeant in the United States Air Force, where they performed and managed testing in various areas of the lab. Malanie gained deployment and leadership experience during their participation in Operation Desert Storm.

After leaving the Air Force in 1993, Malanie joined Quest Diagnostics as a Supervisor. In this role, they supervised a team of 22 technical staff members and was responsible for maintaining accurate standard operating procedures.

In 1999, Malanie transitioned to a Manager position at Laboratory Operations. Here, they hired, trained, and motivated a staff of 110 employees across two functional areas. Malanie was responsible for monitoring production, staffing levels, quality, operating procedures, and employee satisfaction. Malanie also led cross-functional teams addressing various issues such as employee attrition, data entry, quality, customer satisfaction, and missing/lost specimens.

Malanie returned to Quest Diagnostics in 2004 as a Six Sigma Black Belt before being promoted to roles such as National Manager, National Project Manager, and Sr Lean Automation Manager. Malanie'sresponsibilities included implementing lean processes, managing projects nationwide, and improving operational efficiency.

Most recently, in 2021, Malanie joined BioReference Laboratories as the Laboratory Director for Remote Operations.

Melanie Beltran has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Le Tourneau University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2000. Malanie also holds an Associate of Arts degree in Medical Technology from the School of Health Care Sciences, USAF, which they completed from 1986 to 1988. Furthermore, they successfully graduated from Westland High School in 1984, earning a high school diploma.
