Jean-Christophe Charlier

Jean-Christophe Charlier is a seasoned professional in governance and development, currently serving as a Board Member at BIO - the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries since September 2021, where responsibilities include company strategy and membership in the Investment Committee. Since January 2012, Jean-Christophe Charlier has been the Head of Governance Peace & Stability at Enabel, overseeing governance projects related to decentralization, rule of law, and public administration. Previous roles include Senior Governance Adviser at Enabel and Africa and Governance Adviser to the Minister of Development Cooperation in Belgium. Extensive experience is complemented by positions at the Belgian Technical Cooperation, UNDP, World Food Programme, European Cooperation Fund, and Handicap International. Jean-Christophe Charlier holds multiple academic qualifications, including a Master’s in Economics from Université catholique de Louvain and a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Economics from the University of London.
