The Metrology Technician under the general supervision of qualified Metrology personnel is responsible for providing testing and technical support in the Metrology laboratory. Their work requires use of scientific methods, procedures, and techniques gained through training and/or previous experience in accordance with GLP and SOP standards.

Essential Responsibilities

·       Perform calibration and/or maintenance of pipettes and other laboratory equipment ·       Use temperature monitoring software to ensure all storage equipment is maintaining the appropriate temperature conditions ·       Assist in the qualification and maintenance of chromatographic instruments ·       Assist in the maintenance of reference standards ·       Maintain parts and supplies for equipment and instrumentation ·       Record data promptly and legibly using the appropriate forms and laboratory notebooks ·       Maintains documentation in compliance with USFDA, OECD, and MHLW Good Laboratory Practices regulations ·       Update and maintain all internal equipment databases ·       Assistance with special projects as assigned by Metrology management

Minimum Preferred Qualifications

Education/Experience: ·       Associate degree; or equivalent experience in a scientific environment Skills: ·       Ability to work in fast-paced environment where multiple projects are in process and must be completed in a timely manner ·       Ability to take direction well and multi-task ·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills ·       Completion of college science courses in chemistry, biology, and/or related sciences ·       Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels ·       Acute attention to detail and organizational skills ·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) ·       Ability to name and identify the majority of the common lab glassware and equipment; familiarity with common lab chemicals, naming, concentrations, symbols, and properties.
