Kevin Munro

Senior Scientist II at BioAscent

Kevin Munro has over 12 years of experience in the chemical sciences. Kevin began their career in 2007 as an Industrial Trainee at Syngenta, where they were responsible for the synthesis, purification and isolation of organic molecules with agrochemical potential. In 2009, they joined the University of Birmingham as a PhD Student, Organic Chemistry Tutor and Undergraduate Laboratory Demonstrator. In 2013, they were a Temporary Scientist 1 at Evotec, where they synthesised molecules with potential as pharmaceutical targets. In 2014, they were a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Greenwich, where their primary responsibilities involved the design and synthesis of molecules of interest as potential treatments against Leishmania parasites. In 2017, they were a Senior Chemist at Link Technologies Ltd (Scotland). In 2018, they joined LGC Genomics Division as a Senior Chemist I and in 2021, they became a Senior Scientist at BioAscent.

Kevin Munro began their education in 1998 when they attended Trinity High School in Renfrew until 2004. Kevin then went on to pursue a Master in Science (MSci) in Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde from 2004 to 2009. Lastly, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the University of Birmingham from 2009 to 2013.
