Sergio Simonsini has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Sergio began working at INDEAR in 2010 as a Laboratory Assistant and later transitioned to the role of Laboratory Manager/Tecnico Responsable. Sergio also worked as an Analyst of Projects and then became the Coordinator of Projects. From 2017 to 2019, Sergio served as the Leader of the Projects Office at INDEAR. Additionally, Sergio worked as a Professor of Plant Biotechnology at the Instituto de enseñanza terciaria "La Salle" from 2014 to 2015. Sergio also gained research experience as a Tesinista-Becario at CONICET-IBR, where they focused on the interaction between plants and viral pathogens. Most recently, Sergio worked at Bioceres Crop Solutions, starting as the Leader of the Projects Office and then transitioning into the role of Corporate Strategy and Business Development Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Chief of Staff at Bioceres Crop Solutions.
Sergio Simonsini obtained their Master's degree in Plant Biosafety from Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2014 to 2015. During this time, they focused on studying GMO risk assessment and the molecular characterization of GM crops. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2012, they attended Universidad Nacional de Rosario and obtained a degree in Biotecnología, though the specific field of study is not specified.
