Alane Barnes

Alane Barnes is the SVP & Chief Legal Officer at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining BioCryst, Barnes served as a Senior Licensing Associate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, responsible for the evaluation and negotiation of technology licensing and spin out transactions.

Barnes began their legal career as an attorney at Campbell, Waller & Loper, where they practiced commercial and class action litigation. Alane then joined Berkowitz, Lefkovits, Isom & Kushner, a Professional Corporation, where they represented clients with legal needs concerning healthcare and general corporate practice.

Barnes earned their J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and their B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Alane Barnes has a Juris Doctor from Samford University and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Alane Barnes reports to Jon P. Stonehouse, President & CEO. They work with Anthony Doyle - Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, John Bluth - Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, and Charlie Gayer - SVP, Chief Commercial Officer.
