Carol Ohmstede

Carol Ohmstede is the current Vice President of Project Management at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals. Carol has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on project management, corporate alliances, and planning.

Carol started their career in 1985 as a Research Scientist at Glaxo Wellcome. Carol quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Project Planner in 1995 and then VP of Corporate Alliances and Planning at Trimeris, Inc. in 1998.

After a decade at Trimeris, Carol founded their own consulting firm, CDO Projects Consulting, LLC. In 2008, they returned to the pharmaceutical industry as Director/Associate Director of Project Management at Gilead Sciences. Carol held this position until 2012, when they joined BioCryst as Vice President of Project Management.

Carol Ohmstede received their Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from the University of South Florida. Carol then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

They are on a team with Elliott Berger - SVP, Regulatory Affairs, Yarlagadda S. Babu - Senior Vice President, Drug Discovery, and Alane Barnes - SVP & Chief Legal Officer. Carol Ohmstede reports to Jon P. Stonehouse, President & CEO.
