Alekhya Maram

Research Volunteer at BioCurious

Alekhya Maram is a dedicated researcher and co-founder with extensive experience in various scientific roles. Currently serving as a Research Intern at the Tissue Spatial Geometrics Lab under Dr. David Nguyen, Maram focuses on employing artificial intelligence to identify melanoma subtypes. As a co-founder of Athenian WiSE, Maram promotes STEM opportunities for young women through mentorship and events. Research contributions also include analyzing kombucha microbiomes at Counter Culture Labs and creating an immortal cell line at BioCurious's Cuttlefish Project. Past experiences include interning at Garden for the Environment and the Tseng Lab at the VA Hospital, where Maram gained valuable skills in sustainable practices and medical research. Currently enrolled at Barnard College, Maram continues to foster an academic and professional foundation in the sciences.
