Baohong Zhang

Baohong Zhang is a highly experienced leader in computational biology, currently serving as the Senior Director and Head of Computational Biology at Biogen since August 2018. In this role, Baohong leads teams focused on computational biology, innovation platforms, translational analytics, and software development, while representing Biogen in industry consortia and at international conferences. Prior to Biogen, Baohong held various roles at Pfizer from 2004 to 2018, including Director of Clinical Bioinformatics, where oversight included collaborations with institutions such as the Broad Institute and the development of a company-wide biomarker information system. Baohong's earlier experience includes significant positions at ActivX Biosciences, Illumina, Stanford University, and The Scripps Research Institute, complemented by a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from The Chinese Academy of Sciences and a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University.
