István Orbán

István Orbán is an experienced automation professional with expertise in the biopharmaceutical domain. Currently serving as the Automation Platform Technical Lead at Biogen since September 2018, István has played a pivotal role in supporting startup and manufacturing operations at a greenfield biopharmaceutical drug substance site. Previous positions include Senior Automation Manager and Senior Automation Engineer at Biogen, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer at Morgan Sindall Professional Services AG, and Senior Automation Engineer at Emerson Process Management, where István specialized in implementing distributed control systems in DeltaV. Earlier career experience includes roles as a PLC Programmer at Gemac SRL and Assistant Programmer at HP Software. István holds a Master's Degree in Advanced Production Control from the Technical University of Cluj Napoca and an Engineer's Degree in Automation and Applied Informatics from the same institution, complemented by an ERASMUS student experience in Biomedical Engineering at Ghent University.
