Dr. Christian Rausch

Director Of Science And Innovation at BioLizard

Dr. Christian Rausch has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Dr. Christian started their career as a PhD student and Research and Teaching Assistant at Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, where they focused on substrate specificity prediction of enzymes. After completing their PhD, they worked as a Postdoc at Technische Universität München, specializing in protein engineering and bioinformatics.

Following their time at the university, Dr. Rausch joined DSM Biotechnology Center as an Associate Scientist specializing in bioinformatics. Dr. Christian worked on next-generation sequencing and genome analysis of lactic acid bacteria, setting up automated workflows for NGS data analysis.

In 2014, Dr. Rausch took on a temporary role as a Genomics Application Support Scientist at Agilent Technologies, providing level-3 support for Agilent's microarray technologies and bioinformatics analysis.

From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Senior Bioinformatician and Coordinator of the Drylab - Bioinformatics Facility at VU University Medical Center - Cancer Center Amsterdam. In this role, they focused on building and maintaining the infrastructure for big data analysis in genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.

In 2016, Dr. Rausch joined NKI-AvL Netherlands Cancer Institute and Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital as a Senior Bioinformatician, where they worked until 2019.

In 2016, they also founded True Positive Biosciences, which they continue to be involved with.

In 2019, Dr. Rausch joined BioLizard as a Senior Bioinformatician, later being promoted to Scientific Lead and Principal Bioinformatics Scientist. In 2022, they became the Director of Science and Innovation at BioLizard.

Recently, Dr. Rausch joined REPO4EU as a Principal Scientist in 2022.

Dr. Christian Rausch has a Vordiplom in Chemical Engineering from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, a Master's Degree in Biotechnology, majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology from Université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg I) and another Master's Degree in Biotechnology from École Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg. Dr. Christian also holds a Dr. rer. nat. degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Tübingen.
