Pooja Agarwal

Pooja Agarwal is a seasoned professional in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, currently serving as the VP Head of Therapeutic Modalities and Lab Operations in Research and Early Development at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. since September 2020, following roles as Head of Gene Therapy Research and Executive Director. Prior experience includes serving as SVP of Product Development at Krystal Biotech Inc. and holding several key positions at Intrexon Corporation, where responsibilities ranged from Senior Director to Translational Scientist. Early career experiences include a postdoctoral research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and graduate research at the University of California, San Francisco. Pooja Agarwal earned a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Francisco, an MSc in Medical Genetics from the University of Toronto, and a BSc in Honours Biochemistry from McMaster University.
