Philippa C.

Philippa C. has a diverse work experience covering various roles in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Philippa has recently worked as a Senior QA Associate at BiomeBank since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at BioCina as an R&D Scientist and Analytical Development Specialist from October 2021 to September 2022.

From 2014 to 2021, Philippa worked at Pfizer in different roles. Philippa started as a Senior Production Technician (Team Leader) in the Bioprocessing/Pharmaceuticals department from November 2014 to November 2017. Philippa then became an Associate Scientist in the Site Manufacturing Science and Technology team from November 2017 to February 2019. Finally, they assumed the role of Quality Control Specialist (Chemistry) from February 2019 to September 2021.

Before their tenure at Pfizer, Philippa worked at Hospira as a Production Technician/Biochemist in the pharmaceuticals sector from September 2011 to November 2014. In this role, they focused on downstream chromatographic purification and was involved in quality investigations and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Philippa'searlier experience includes being an Outreach Officer in Events and PR at the Australian Institute of Policy and Science from February to June 2010. Philippa also worked at Flinders University, where they held multiple roles. Philippa conducted research on plant biotechnology, molecular biology, and biochemistry from January 2008 to February 2010. Additionally, they served as a Laboratory Practical Demonstrator from January to December 2009, teaching and supervising undergraduate science students. Philippa also worked as a Research Assistant in Biochemistry from January to June 2008, assisting in the study of the alternative respiration pathway in plants. Furthermore, as an Honours Student from January to December 2007, they worked on projects involving gene isolation and cloning, RNAi silencing construct construction, and the examination of the response to stress conditions in barley.

Outside of their regular work, Philippa also served as the ABSA Chair/Secretary at AusBiotech in 2009 and 2010.

From 2004 to 2009, Philippa C. attended Flinders University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Biotechnology (Hons) degree with a focus on Biotechnology and Molecular Biology.
