Dirk-Jan Kootstra

Dirk-Jan Kootstra has extensive experience in the engineering and manufacturing industries. Dirk-Jan began their career as a Project Engineer for Ucosan in 1992. In 1999, they became an Owner and Partner in Professional Plastic Projects (Quattra-P), providing services in the development of plastic products from a design phase into serial production. Dirk-Jan also worked as a Project Engineer for Kendrion NV, where they were responsible for the development of injection moulded products for various customers. In 2002, they joined General Electric as a Manager Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manager Engineering, where they were responsible for improvements in composite manufacturing technology on composite rotorblades for Wind Energy. Dirk-Jan was also responsible for the start up of various production locations for rotorblade manufacturing in Europe, USA, and Asia. In 2007, Dirk-Jan Co-Founded and became Director of Pontis Engineering, an independent international company active in the rapidly growing industry of advanced composite products. In 2019, they became the Founder of Quattra-P and in 2021, they became the COO and Head of Manufacturing for Biome Renewables.

Dirk-Jan Kootstra obtained a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering from Hogeschool Haarlem between 1986 and 1991.
