Harold Boël

Independent director at bioMérieux

Harold Boël is an independent director at bioMérieux, a company that produces medical diagnostic solutions. Prior to their current position, Boël was the managing director at Usines Gustave Boël from January 1994 to December 1997. From there, they went on to become plant manager and assistant plant manager of the hot dip galvanizing line in the IJmuiden steelworks for Corus from October 1997 to September 2001. After being promoted to general manager of Corus MultiSteel Service Centre, they held that position from September 2001 to January 2005. In February 2005, Boël became managing director of Laura Metaal Eygelshoven BV and held that position until October 2007 when they took on the role of managing director of BMF Participation, an investment fund focused on small to medium businesses in Belgium. Harold held that position until November 2008 when they became an independent director at bioMérieux.

Harold Boël is an engineer from the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. Harold also has a Sc.B. in Chemistry from Brown University, and has completed executive programs in management and philosophy from the Solvay Brussels School and INSEAD. Harold also has a certificate in corporate governance from INSEAD. Harold Boël also has an International Baccalaureate from the United World College of the Atlantic.
