Jill Powlick has an extensive work experience in the legal field. Jill started their career as a teacher at The Ellis School from 1988 to 1991. Jill then worked as a Clerk at the US District Court from 1996 to 1998. Jill joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP as an Associate in 1998 and stayed until 2004. Jill later joined Ice Miller LLP as Of Counsel from 2004 to 2005. Jill then worked at BioFire Diagnostics, Inc. as a Legal Counsel from 2005 to 2013 and as an Associate General Counsel, IP from 2013 to 2014. Jill served as the VP of Legal Affairs at BioFire Defense from 2014 to 2018. Since 2018, Jill has held various positions at bioMérieux, including Chief Patent Counsel - Americas and Lead Counsel - Business Development & Patent Litigation.
Jill Powlick completed their education with a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Indiana University Bloomington from 1992 to 1995. Before that, they earned a Master's in Education (M.Ed.) with a focus on Biology and Education from the University of Pittsburgh, from 1984 to 1988. Jill began their academic journey at Carnegie Mellon University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biological Sciences from 1980 to 1983.
