Marcus Maurer

Marcus Maurer serves as the Director of IT Business Applications at BioNTech SE, responsible for establishing and leading the Business IT for various Enabling Functions such as HR, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Procurement, and Facility services since April 2022. Prior to this role, Maurer was the IT Group Leader at DG VERLAG, overseeing the development and management of standard applications. With extensive experience in the automotive sector, Maurer held significant positions at Opel Automobile GmbH and its predecessor Adam Opel GmbH, managing software development and electronic systems. Earlier career highlights include technical project leadership at Hewlett Packard Enterprise for General Motors and systems engineering roles at EDS. Maurer holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Manufacturing Technology from Fachhochschule Wiesbaden.
