Maryam Albashir

Maryam Albashir is an experienced healthcare professional currently on maternity leave since March 2024. With a notable position as Associate Director of Clinical Development at BioNTech SE since February 2023, Maryam leads the Malaria and TB Vaccines Clinical Development Program. As a Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist since March 2020, Maryam is pursuing specialty training in endoscopic Gastroenterology and Infectious Diseases. In addition, as the Founder and CEO of Hypatia Health since May 2019, Maryam has established a women-driven Contract Clinical Research Organization serving clients globally. Previous roles include Regulatory Medical Writer at PAION AG and Drug Safety Physician at Medical Trials Analysis, complemented by experience as a Research Assistant at the WHO Collaborating Centre and involvement in research initiatives with the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations. Maryam holds multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Khartoum and a Master’s in International Health and Medicine from Università degli Studi di Parma.
