Surjendu Dey

Surjendu Dey is an experienced medicinal chemist currently serving as Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry at BioNTech SE since 2020, focusing on individualized cancer therapies. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg from 2018 to 2020 and another postdoctoral fellowship at Heidelberg University from 2010 to 2017, where Surjendu also completed doctoral research. Earlier work involved a master thesis at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, where Surjendu investigated copper-free click cycloaddition reactions and bio-active surfaces for protein immobilization. Surjendu holds a Dr. rer. nat. in Chemistry from Heidelberg University and a Master of Science from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, complemented by a Bachelor of Science from Krishnath College.
