John Zhang

Dr. Zhang is the founder, President and CEO of Biopeptek Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Zhang is also the founder and President of Mainline Biosciences, a company that develops novel drugs for cancer. Prior to Biopeptek, Dr. Zhang was with the Janssen Pharmaceutical division of Johnson & Johnson for ten years. During his tenure at J&J, Dr. Zhang held numerous scientific and management positions and led multiple development projects related to three antibody drugs that received FDA approval. Dr. Zhang was a recipient of two Standard and Leadership Awards. He also received a platinum award for the investigation work on cell culture media that saved the company fifty-four million dollars a year. Before his career at J&J, Dr. Zhang was with Eisai USA for five years, where he was a Senior Chemist for an analytical development and quality control laboratory.

Dr. Zhang earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from Drexel University, a M.S. in chemistry from the University of Louisiana, and a B.S. in material science from the Wuhan University of Technology in China. Dr. Zhang was born and raised in Qingdao China and immigrated to the United States to pursue his graduate education.
