Emanuel Vacchiano

Emanuel Vacchiano is an experienced patent attorney with a strong background in life sciences and biotechnology. Currently serving as a Patent Attorney at Double Helix Law since April 2015, Emanuel specializes in patent drafting, analysis, product clearance, and IP strategy, focusing on biopharma, molecular biology, and biochemistry. As the Founder of BiopharmIQ by Amp since October 2016, Emanuel has established a B2B platform connecting vendors and investors to biopharma companies. Prior to that role, Emanuel held various positions, including Division Lead Patent Counsel at Life Technologies, where responsibilities included strategic oversight of IP for diverse products and leading a team of over 10 patent attorneys. Emanuel's legal career began at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich, and Emanuel also brings experience in patent prosecution and litigation from earlier roles at McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP and Abbott Diagnostics. Academically, Emanuel earned a J.D. in Intellectual Property from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois Chicago.
