Henrik Karlsson is a seasoned entrepreneur and leader with extensive experience in both the arts and technology sectors. As the Founder and CEO of Biorecro since 2006, Henrik focuses on scaling carbon removal through BECCS. Previously, Henrik co-founded and served as CEO of Prometa from 2016 to 2021, specializing in AI automation for enterprise administration. Henrik's background also includes a tenure as a First Tenor in the Extra Chorus at Kungliga Operan AB in Stockholm, where performances included works by Wagner and Weill. Additionally, Henrik served as a Second Lieutenant in the Swedish Armed Forces. Academically, Henrik holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and completed a short program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

We permanently remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Utilizing Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) technologies, we are able to capture carbon emissions from biomass, rather than from fossil fuels as is done with CCS. By naturally drawing carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere via biomass production and then permanently storing it thousands of meters below the Earth’s surface, BECCS is able to go beyond net zero, producing net negative emissions.
