Livingstone Mwaura Nganga

VC Fellow at BioSTL

Livingstone Mwaura Nganga completed his PhD in Plant Biology at UC Davis. During that time, he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Student Fellow; a Business Development Fellow at Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation, completing a year of MBA classes; and an IIFH Innovator Fellow at the Innovation Institute for Food and Health, working as a Venture Capital Associate with FTW Ventures in San Francisco. As a PhD student, Livingstone studied haploid induction, which allows for faster plant breeding. In addition to working with portfolio companies, he will explore the possibility of creating his own company based on this haploid induction technology.

Livingstone is excited to be back in St. Louis – he moved from Kabete, Kenya to St. Louis after high school and attended UMSL and worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
