Matthias Patz has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Matthias is currently serving as the Chief Innovation Officer at BIOTRONIK and also holds the position of Geschäftsführer at BIOLAB Innovation GmbH. Prior to their current roles, they were the Vorsitzender des Kuratoriums at Technologiestiftung Berlin. Additionally, Matthias has a significant background at DB Systel GmbH, where they held positions such as Vice President & Program Lead Gaia-X, Vice President Innovation & New Ventures, Senior Digital Strategist, Innovation Manager, Business Development Manager, IT-Consultant, Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Consultant. Matthias has also been involved in advisory and mentorship roles for startups at Startup Weekend, Startup Bootcamp, Google NEXT, and Betahaus. Furthermore, Matthias founded and served as the CEO of compreo UG.

Matthias Patz completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Computing from the University of Cooperative Education Rhein-Main between 2006 and 2009. During this time, they studied subjects such as Supply Chain Management, Finance, Change Management, Data Warehouse, and Business Intelligence.

From 2010 to 2013, Matthias pursued two Master's degrees simultaneously. Matthias attended Technische Universität Berlin, where they obtained a Master of Science in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship. Additionally, they studied at the University of Twente and earned a Master of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Innovation Management. Their studies included fields such as Economics, Management, Human Side of Innovation, Strategic Management, Technology & IP Management, and Entrepreneurial Finance.

In terms of additional certifications, Matthias Patz obtained the AI Driven Management certification from StackFuel and the ITIL4 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from PeopleCert in the year 2021. Matthias also acquired a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford Online in 2020.
