Hector Ortega has more than 15 years of research experience in the areas of neurodegenerative diseases, neurochemistry, and molecular biology – with extensive experience in cell culturing based on both in vitro and in vivo research models.
In his current role, he manages the process of obtaining, separating, expanding, and cryopreserving cells and derivatives – as well as developing research projects to improve therapies. He was a professor at the University of Antioquia, was a member of the University’s central ethics committee, and served as coordinator of laboratory clinical trials at the Antioquia Neurosciences Group.
