Cory Urquhart

Cory Urquhart has a strong background in the construction industry, with experience in various roles and responsibilities. Cory started their career at Rideau Construction Inc. in 2001, where they served as the Special Projects Manager. In this role, they managed small to medium-sized projects, including landlord improvements, retail fit-ups, renovations, and moderately sized new buildings. Rideau Construction Inc. was later purchased by Bird Construction.

In 2008, Urquhart joined Bird Construction as a Construction Manager. Cory'sresponsibilities included general contracting, business development, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety. During their tenure, they worked on the construction of 18 schools in Alberta under the PPP (Private Public Partnership) model.

In 2010, Urquhart took on the role of Manager of Special Projects at Bird Construction. Over the next 5 years, they gained experience in a wide range of construction projects, with a focus on Design Build and PPP. Cory was involved in four PPP projects, with budgets ranging from $40 million to over $400 million. Cory managed these projects from the pursuit phase through to execution.

In 2015, Urquhart was promoted to the position of Director of Business Development (Atlantic) at Bird Construction, where they currently serve. This role involves overseeing business development initiatives in the Atlantic region.

Cory Urquhart obtained a degree in Civil Engineering Technology with a focus on Construction Management from New Brunswick Community College, Moncton, which they attended from 1994 to 1996. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Civil engineering at the University of New Brunswick from 1997 to 2002.
