Ian Turnbull has extensive work experience in the construction industry, primarily in senior leadership roles. Ian is currently the Vice President of Strategic Development at Bird Construction since April 2019. Prior to that, from July 2018 to March 2019, they worked as an Independent Consultant at ITCMP, specializing in the Canadian energy sector.
Before becoming an independent consultant, Ian had a long tenure at Aecon Group Inc., where they held various roles from April 2001 to July 2018. These roles included Senior Vice President and President - Industrial Central, East and Nuclear, Vice President of Aecon Industrial, and Account Manager/Project Manager/Vice President.

Ian Turnbull's education history begins in 1978 when they attended Stephen Leacock CI for high school. Ian graduated from high school in 1983. From 1983 to 1987, Ian studied at the University of Toronto, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Engineering. After a gap in education, they pursued executive programs to further enhance their knowledge and skills. In 2008, Ian enrolled at Western University for Ivy executive programs and completed them in 2015. In 2010, they also attended Queen's University for an executive program.
