Nathan Downie

Project Manager at Bird

Nathan Downie began their work experience in 2007 as a Summer Co-op Student in the Civil Engineering Department at Ontario Power Generation. In 2009 and 2010, they worked as a Labourer in Community Infrastructure Services at The Town of Pelham, where they were responsible for tasks related to water infrastructure and road maintenance. From 2011 to 2012, Nathan served as a Process Optimization Student in the Water and Wastewater Division at Niagara Region, where they assisted in optimizing filters and evaluated engineering proposals. Nathan then joined Bird Construction in 2012 and held various roles, including Project Coordinator and Senior Project Coordinator. Since April 2018, Nathan has been working as a Project Manager at Bird Construction.

Nathan Downie attended McMaster University from 2005 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering and Society (BEng) degree with a specialization in Civil Engineering. Nathan'sfield of study was focused on Water/Environmental Engineering.

Furthermore, in May 2021, Nathan obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
