Paul Burns is a seasoned professional in the coffee and training industry, currently serving as a Product Trainer at Birdie since September 2023, focusing on both internal and external training. As a Coffee Sommelier and Podcast Host of “From the Roast House with Paul Burns,” Paul provides tasting notes and pairing recommendations, leveraging expertise developed through an independent barista coaching and consulting practice. Prior experience includes a role as Product Trainer at Surpass Assessment, where Paul delivered training on exam creation and auditing, and as Training and Support Manager at Starbucks. Additional management experience spans various roles at Trespass and Costa Coffee. Paul’s career began at JJB Sports as a Supervisor, with foundational sales experience at Seddons Plant & Engineers Ltd. Education includes a GCSE from Little Hulton Community School.
