Marisa Sharkey is the Co-Founder, President and COO of Birdies. Prior to joining Birdies, Marisa served as Group Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Ross Stores from January 2010 to December 2015. In this role, they advised the leadership team in setting overall strategic priorities and implementing change-oriented initiatives. Marisa focused on merchandising strategy, organizational design, and operational process design and improvement.
Prior to Ross Stores, Marisa was a Manager at Bain and Company from January 2003 to December 2010. At Bain, they were a member of the Retail and Private Equity Practices and led multiple projects focused on retail growth strategy and performance improvement for apparel, footwear and personal care companies. Marisa also advised leading private equity investors on due diligence and portfolio company growth opportunities.
Before Bain, Marisa worked as an Equity Research Associate at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from January 1999 to December 2001. Prior to DLJ, they served as an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Salomon Smith Barney from January 1997 to December 1999.
Marisa Sharkey has a MBA from The Wharton School in Strategic Management and Finance and a BS from Cornell University in Business Management.
