Lucy Mazdon

Lucy Mazdon currently serves as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange at Birkbeck, University of London, a position held since February 2025. Prior to this role, Lucy held several key positions at Oxford Brookes University, including Pro Vice Chancellor for Recruitment and Partnerships and PVC/Dean from January 2022 to March 2025. Previously, Lucy was the Dean at the University of Hull from July 2019 to January 2022, and served as Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Southampton from February 2018 to June 2019. Lucy also dedicated over two decades to the University of Southampton in various capacities, including Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise and Professor of Film Studies. Lucy obtained a PhD from the University of Southampton from 1993 to 1996, a Master of Arts from the University of Warwick in 1992-1993, and a DEUG from both the University of Birmingham and Université Grenoble Alpes between 1986 and 1990, and 1987-1988, respectively.
