Rafael Vargas

Rafael Vargas serves as the Lead Scientist and Subject Matter Expert at Birla Carbon/Columbian Chemicals Company since July 2011, leveraging extensive experience in analytical and material analysis laboratories. Prior positions include TS&D Chemist/Analytical at Cytec from June 2009 to July 2011 and Senior Analytical Chemist at CYTEC INDUSTRIES from January 2001 to July 2009, where key contributions involved developing methods for high-priority projects and supervising technicians. Earlier roles encompassed Senior Chemist/Supervisor at DuPont Nylon Intermediates & Specialties, Group Leader at J.M. Huber Corporation, and Research Associate at International Paper, where innovative methodologies for product enhancement and environmental compliance were established. Rafael Vargas holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Miami.
