Cakir Volkan

Cakir Volkan is a seasoned academic and professional in engineering management with a robust background in higher education and military logistics. Currently serving as Team Lead at Birmingham City University since August 2022, Cakir oversees the Engineering Management program while previously holding senior academic positions at Lebanese American University and Istanbul Arel University, where Cakir also contributed as Vice Director of the Institute of Sciences and Head of the Industrial Engineering Department. Cakir's military experience includes roles as Project Management Officer for the Turkish Air Force and as an instructor at the Turkish Air Force Academy, focusing on quality management and Total Quality Management implementation. Cakir's educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from Old Dominion University and advanced degrees in Industrial and Electronics Engineering from Turkish National Defense University and Middle East Technical University.
