Peter Rookes has worked in education and research for most of their career. Peter started as a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Birmingham in 2005 and completed their research of Christian Health Services in 13 developing countries in 2010. Peter then became a member of the teaching team for the Social Analysis of Poverty in Development module specialising in the health sector. In February 2019, they left the university to become a member of the Schools Appeals and Exclusions Panel at a local education authority. Peter is currently the Secretary & Liason at Birmingham Council of Faiths.
Peter Rookes has a long and varied educational career. Peter holds a Bachelor of Education from Birmingham City University, a PhD and MA from the University of Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science from the Open University. Peter also has a Master of Public Health from the University of Liverpool and a Diploma in Health Service Administration from the University of Aston. Additionally, they are a Registered General Nurse and Registered Clinical Nurse Teacher.
